LAUNCH is an open innovation platform which aims to identify and develop big ideas that will make the world more sustainable.

It’s an ambitious goal, but it involves some very big players in NASA, Nike, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Department of State.

There’s a lot of brain power and financial clout here, but it’s still a huge task to come up with those breakthrough concepts that will save the world. LAUNCH isn’t about incremental change  - it seeks ideas that will make an impact at a system-wide level.

Its current focus is on materials and manufacturing - a field which has huge social, environmental and economic impacts on the world.

Specifically, it is looking at green chemistry, a crucial component in a sustainable materials and manufacturing system, so it is now seeking approximately 10 innovators, who will be  selected for support, networking, and mentoring from influential business and government leaders.

The website invites people to get involved by sharing their innovation that could disrupt the materials and manufacturing system or by collaborating with some of the world’s most radical thinkers by joining the LAUNCH network.
