M&S water stewardship

M&S, in collaboration with the WWF, identified “water risk hotspots” in the Western Cape of Africa. Together with the Alliance for Water Stewardship, and South African retailer Woolworths, M&S is implementing the AWS standard to help farmers better manage water and to engage with local businesses and communities to ensure the river is managed sustainably. Each farm has its own specific water stewardship plan, which should help ensure future production in the area.

Through collaboration and its forward-looking Plan A, Marks & Spencer is acting to ensure the future availability of fruits and vegetables from “water risk hotspots”.
