Founded in 1867, the Delhaize Group is a food retailer, operating stores and wholesalers, from Brussels, Belgium. With around 3,500 locations spread across seven countries on three continents, the Delhaize Group achieved revenues in the region of €21 billion in 2013.

Ikea

Founded in 1943, IKEA is a multinational furniture and household goods company with one of the most distinctive brands in its industry. The company now operates 351 stores in 46 countries, with operations in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia and plans to expand into Africa on the horizon.  

John Lewis Partnership

The John Lewis Partnership operates two two main entities: John Lewis retail stores and Waitrose supermarkets. The company is employee-owned through a trust and behalf of all its employees — known as Partners – who have a say in the running of the business and receive a share of annual profits, which is usually a significant addition to their salary.

Kingfisher Plc

Kingfisher plc is a British multinational retailer with headquarters in London. It is the largest home improvement retailer in Europe and the third-largest in the world, with more than 1,100 stores in 11 countries across Asia and Europe, and brands including B&Q, Castorama, and Screwfix.

Marks & Spencer

Marks and Spencer plc is a British multinational retailer, headquartered in London. It specialises in the selling of clothing, home products and luxury food and drink. It was founded as a single market stall in 1884 by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer in Leeds.

Safeway

Safeway Inc is a major US food and drug retailer, with headquarters in Pleasanton, California. As of September 2014, it operated more than 1,300 stores in the Western, Southwestern, Rocky Mountain, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the USA, having completed the sale of its Canadian operations the previous year.

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's is the third largest chain of supermarkets in the United Kingdom. Its first shop was opened in 1869 in London, the city where it is now headquartered. Today it has 592 supermarkets, 611 convenience stores, and Sainsbury’s bank. Its revenue is more than £23 billion and its workforce totals around 161,000.

Sears Holdings

Sears Holdings Corporation is an American multinational holding company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. It was founded in 2005, when Kmart acquired Sears. It now operates around 4,000 stores under the Sears and Kmart brands and their subsidiaries, employing around 226,000 people and reporting revenue of more than $36 billion.
